    Biological Effects of Tea Polyphenols on Human Health: A Review

    Tea is the second most widely consumed beverage in the world, with only water being more common. There are many different types of teas available today, most of which have wonderful health benefits. Different types of tea, such as white tea, green tea, yellow tea, black tea, oolong tea and pu-erh tea, all come from the same plant, Camellia sinensis. The type of tea produced from this plant depends entirely on the way the leaves are processed after harvesting. . Many of these beneficial effects of tea are related to its polyphenolic contain Catechin, particularly (-)-epigallocatechin-3-gallate, content.
