Abstract

I, along with my co-editors am proud to present the Volume 11, Issue 1 of International Research Journal of Plant Sciences (IRJPS) (ISSN: 2141-5447). Maintaining our broad scope, encompassing all areas of Plant science and botany from molecular biology through to ecology, including: development; growth regulation; molecular cell biology and genetics; signal transduction; photosynthesis; pathogen resistance; nutrition; water relations and gas exchange; symbiosis (especially mycorrhizae and rhizobia); stress physiology; population genetics; ecology; and molecular systematic, we have published all types of experimental as well as theoretical studies including original articles, reviews and short communications. The journal established in 2010 has now published 46 issues. The journal is actively engaging with indexing partners and academic societies. The journal is constantly attracting readers which resulted in increased article downloads and page visitors. All these are promising signs of progress. We could reach this stage through the efforts, hard work and academic professionalism of our board members and intellectual generosity of the readers and contributors. During a decade long of publication history the journal has received articles from across the globe. Open access nature of the journal helping readers form developing countries to access the content freely and breaking the belief that science is only for those who can afford paying huge amounts for access.

Editorial Note

Our future strategies include to carry on our ongoing agreements to offer publication space to special and supplemental issues associated with conferences along with actively reaching with new collaborators to broaden the scope of the journal and its special issues as well.

We have started providing social media space to the published articles by constantly posting papers on professional networks like LinkedIn, Academia, Research gate, etc.; Twitter, and Facebook. We are providing on time active WhatsApp numbers so that our readers, authors, editors and reviewers can reach us as fast as can.

Through this letter we would also like to thank our intellectual partners; editorial and reviewers board members for their constant support towards achieving standards which the journal aspires. During the last ten years these board members have handled the large number of first-round submissions. This resulted in significant expansion of our pool of excellent reviewers which eventually lead to reduced average turnaround times. The journal follows double blind peer review process and most of the papers have minimum two expert recommendations and paper quality has been steadily improving.

With such a broad and diverse support base the journal achieved an excellent position in the domain and striving for further improvement in quality of the journal. With publisher`s continued support in improving its editorial platforms we aim for even higher standards in all aspects of the journal’s management and operations.

We look forward to work with all of you as we continue to make International Research Journal of Plant Sciences a success. We welcome your scholarly contributions for the upcoming issues. We are also looking forward to receive your critical feedback as authors, readers, and reviewers of the journal.
