Facial Hyperpigmentation in a Male Patient is the First Presentation of Addison�¢����s disease: Case report of Familial Addison�¢����s Disease and Review of Literature

Addison’s disease is a rare endocrine disease with skin and systemic manifestations. It is an emergency case and can be a life threatening disord er particularly in stressful situation. Early diagnosis and proper management is needed. This is a report of a case of autoimmune Addison’s disease in a male patient presented to a dermatolog y clinic complaining of progressive facial hyperpigmentation and was not diagnosed previously with the disease. On screening of his family, one of his brothers was also diagnosed to have the disease. This case is presented to highlight the necessity to know this rare disease by dermatologis t who treats patients presented with facial pigmentation.
