A field experiment was conducted in a medium land site (Inceptisol) of Central Research Station, Orissa University of Agriculture and Technology, Bhubaneswar, India during 2006-09 in order to study the effect of gromor bentonite S pastilles and gypsum on yield and nutrient uptake by hybrid rice-potato-green gram cropping system. Application of S significantly increased the grain and straw yield, nutrient uptake by hybrid rice-potato-green gram cropping system. A dose of 60 kg S ha-1 through S-bentonite pastilles increased the yield of hybrid rice, potato and green gram over control by 34, 21 and 18 per cent, respectively. Uptake of N, P, K, Ca, Mg, S, Fe, Mn, Zn and Cu by hybrid rice-potato-green gram system were increased significantly in S-treated soil. A dose of 60 kg S ha-1 was ideal for hybrid rice and 40 kg S ha-1 for potato. Among the three sources, gromor bentonite S pastille was found to be best source of S because of high concentration, slow release and minimum leaching loss.
